Ms. Eastman-Onwuzirike, O. Saskia is an Economist who began her career within the Public Sector. Ms. Eastman-Onwuzirike held the positions of Accounts Clerk II, a Researcher and of a Statistical Officer in both Public and Private Sectors and is currently Chief Statistical Officer (ag) at the Ministry of Labour. She is also the Focal Point Person for Monitoring and Evaluation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and also Data Manager & Focal Point Person with responsibility for implementation of the CARICOM Regional Labour Market Information System (CLMIS).

As a Directors of one of the most successful Credit Unions in Guyana and with responsibility for the treasury she has implemented supervised policies that have seen the Credit Union move from a simple one service operation to one that is engaged in the provision of multiple financial services that has grown the Credit Union’s service portfolio markedly.

Appointed as the Chairperson of the Guyana National Cooperative Union Limited has allowed her to display her managerial skills in the resuscitation of the Guyana Cooperative Movement for relevant development and sustainable growth. In this role she has had the opportunity not only to deploy her attributes of great communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency at goal setting and resourcefulness but importantly coalesce the additional members into an efficient and productive unit of high achievers.
