A highly accomplished finance and accounting professional with over 25 years of experience working in higher learning University education and admired for driving financial performance; Laurel Peterson is a trusted financial comptroller with the background in financial and capital expenditure planning and management, risk management, efficient integrated processes, financial reporting, internal audit, and procurement.
Laurel has directed a team of 21+ finance professionals across global locations, where she streamlined all accounting operations and drove internal controls. Her key focus on cost reduction strategy oversees Supply Chain management on contractual negotiations, efficient forecast for over $180M in expenses, and improvement of treasury cash flow processes.
Laurel has served as a member of the treasury board which funded multiple institutions in the movement of cashflow in excess of $500M in revenue and expenses.
Laurel has a Master’s in Accounting and Financial Management, Master of Science in Entrepreneurship, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management.
She is a member of the Empowering Women Network and the Small Business Association from Restoration & Deliverance Ministry in Dominica.
